Role-specific training
OSHA medical office training.
Modules built for the people who do the work: physicians, nurses, medical assistants, dental hygienists, phlebotomists and front-office staff each face different hazards and need different training.
By role
Training aligned to what each person actually does.
The standard requires training appropriate to the employee’s duties. Training a receptionist on sharps handling wastes their time; not training them on emergency egress and workplace violence is a genuine gap.
- Physicians and providers
- Exposure determination and supervisory responsibility, safer device selection and the evaluation record, post-exposure protocol and referral, and the documentation the practice owner is personally accountable for producing.
- Nurses and medical assistants
- Full bloodborne pathogens module, safe injection practice, sharps container management and fill lines, specimen handling and transport, and surface disinfection contact times for the products in your office.
- Dental hygienists and assistants
- Aerosol and splatter control, instrument reprocessing and sterilisation monitoring, dental unit waterline management, amalgam and mercury handling, and eye protection for both operator and patient.
- Phlebotomists and laboratory staff
- Venipuncture safety devices and activation, tube handling and centrifuge safety, spill response inside and outside a biosafety cabinet, and the intersection with your CLIA procedure manual.
- Sonographers and imaging staff
- Ergonomic positioning and scanning posture, transducer disinfection, and radiation safety where ionizing equipment is in use.
- Front office and administrative staff
- Emergency action plan and evacuation, fire extinguisher awareness, workplace violence and de-escalation, ergonomics at a workstation, and their role in the practice emergency response.
- Housekeeping and facilities
- Regulated medical waste handling, PPE for cleaning tasks, chemical hazards in cleaning products, and sharps encountered outside clinical areas.
Training records must show what was covered, when, by whom, and for which employee. We deliver all four for every session.
