We work directly with hospital health systems acquiring private practices, and the pattern is consistent. The practice has been managing its own compliance for years in its own way; the acquiring system has enterprise policies, accreditation obligations and an internal audit function. Neither side has time to reconcile the two.
We do that reconciliation. We audit the acquired practice against both the applicable federal standards and the system’s own policy set, produce a gap list, and run the transition training so that on day one the site is auditable under the parent organisation’s framework.
